Spec Ad: Macy’s Designer Sweater Email

 

Project Request-

For this project, I worked with a creative brief that wanted an email ad for Macy’s, a very popular store that sells clothing, and other household items. This ad is geared towards a male demographic, ages 18-45 who enjoy designer brands, and fashion-forward styles that have some expendable income. This ad is needed to increase male traffic to the store, and sales for men’s fall fashion, where the store tends to come up short each year.

My Strategy-

I solved the gap in revenue by magnifying the savings in the headline, subhead, and snippet, and keeping the discounts at the forefront of the message to attract the target audience. I also injected urgency into the message by highlighting the dates that the sale was running, shortly after the promo. Lastly, considering fashion is not always top-of-mind, I kept the message very concise and clear, so it wouldn’t take long to read through and understand the promo.
